After eighteen months of regular wear, the 6119G is the watch we recommend without qualification to anyone seeking a single dress piece. The new Calibre 30-255 PS justifies the reference's existence on its own; the case proportions resolve criticisms of the predecessor 5196; and the hobnail bezel is the most significant aesthetic addition to the line in fifty years. Faults are minor and the watch is genuinely accessible at an authorised dealer.

After twelve months of daily wear in three climates, the cashmere-blend Storm System fabric has resisted every condition we have tested it in, the cut works under tailoring as easily as over a knit, and the construction has shown no fatigue. The $4,800 price is high; the value is genuine.

Oran Sandal

The Oran is the rare luxury object whose ubiquity has not diluted its quality. The construction is genuinely better than every imitation we have compared, the leather develops a meaningful patina over years rather than degrading, and the silhouette has been unchanged since 1997 because it is correct. Faults are real (sizing is unforgiving, the calfskin variant scuffs) but the verdict remains unequivocal.
