    Trust & Transparency

    Editorial Policy

The principles, standards, and processes that govern every word published on Desirables.

    Editorial Independence

Desirables operates with a clear separation between commercial and editorial functions. Advertisers, affiliate partners, and sponsors have no influence over what we cover, how we rank it, or the conclusions our writers reach. Editorial decisions are made by editors, not by sales or marketing teams.

When we feature a product, it's because our editors believe it merits attention based on the criteria documented in our Methodology - not because of a commercial arrangement.

    Sourcing & Fact-Checking

Every factual claim must be supported by a verifiable source. Acceptable sources include:

    • • Primary brand documentation (press releases, official archives)
    • • Auction house records (Sotheby's, Christie's, Phillips, Bonhams)
    • • Established trade publications and industry reports
    • • Named expert interviews conducted by our writers
    • • Direct examination of the product, where possible

Anonymous sources, social media posts, and unverified claims do not meet our sourcing bar.

    Corrections Policy

We correct errors transparently. If you spot a factual error, email corrections@desirables.com with the URL and the issue. Corrections are handled as follows:

    • Material errors (incorrect facts, misattributed quotes, wrong specifications) are corrected immediately and a dated correction note is appended to the article.
    • Minor copy issues (typos, broken links, formatting) are fixed silently.
    • Updates due to changed facts (new pricing, discontinued products, brand changes) are dated and noted in the article header.

    AI & Automation Policy

We use AI tools selectively as a productivity aid - for research summarization, draft scaffolding, copyedit suggestions, and image metadata. We do not publish unedited AI-generated content. Every article is:

    • • Conceived and structured by a human editor
    • • Researched against primary sources by a human writer
    • • Reviewed for accuracy and voice by a senior editor
    • • Held to the same factual and ethical standards as any other piece

    Conflicts of Interest

Writers and editors must disclose any personal, financial, or professional relationship with subjects they cover. When a conflict exists, the assignment is reassigned. Staff do not accept gifts above nominal value, paid travel, or product samples in exchange for coverage.
